Mam Tor walk near castleton

On Saturday morning we went for a walk from Castleton around the Hope Valley along the ridge line through the moors and hills. Our main task was to get up Mam Tor, a large hill with an eroding side that makes it look more spectacular. The walk took us about 4 hrs and we skirted most of the southern end of the valley. We had great views of the Hope Valley and also into Edale valley. We had lunch sitting on the edge of Mam Tor. We also saw some crazy sheep hanging out on a cliff of dry grass when they were surrounded by very green grass on safer pastures.
