Birds in flight – Black Headed Gulls

Here are some pics of Black Headed Gulls.  I wanted to get some good settings for the camera and capturing a still of a fast moving object.

Sunset at the Bay

We managed to get down to the waterfront a few nights back and capture some nice pics of Thorpe Bay and Southend at Sunset.  With a little bit of haze and a good tide the shots look great.

First BBQ of 2010

On Saturday we managed our first BBQ of 2010 at home.  It was a beautiful afternoon, warmish, sunny, blue skies and not too windy.  We got a bit of chicken and nandos sauce and had a feast.  We even ate outside with the help of a few jumpers.

The video is also practice with the new camera and editing video again which i haven’t done for a long time.

Macro Veggie

 

Here are some updated pics of the veggie garden.  We have had some good warm (13-15) weather and lots of sun lately so the veggies and herbs are really shooting up.  I tried to get some close up of the new growth.  I don’t have a macro lense but can still get some reasonably close up pics of the plants.

Mixed Lettuce, still in need of some thinning

 

Spinach coming along nicely.  The plants are still pretty small – you can see the cotyledons, the long thin leaves.
